Meet Sara Utecht, RMT
Sara graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2018.
As Sara is visually impaired, she does have her guide dog Daisy with her at all times in the treatment room. Most of her clients find her presence very soothing.
Sara moved to Canada six years ago from the UK. Before becoming a massage therapist Sara worked as a financial journalist in London. She first became interested in massage therapy after suffering a chronic back injury while competing in the judo world championships for the visually impaired as a teenager. After years of various treatments she found that massage was extremely beneficial for providing pain relief. This inspired her to want to help others with similar issues. Sara aims to help her patients achieve their treatment goals as effectively as possible, through treatment and education. Sara uses a variety of techniques during her treatments including Swedish massage, active and passive stretching, myofascial release and joint mobilizations.
Sara is visually impaired and has a guide dog, Daisy, who comes to the clinic with her everyday. In her spare time Sara enjoys running, and has completed a couple of half marathons and is hoping to run her first full one in the near future. She also enjoys going for walks with Daisy, is an avid bookworm and keen soccer fan, supporting Leicester City in the UK Premiership.
